Dorothy was a wonderful, smart lady and it has been a privilege to have had her as a friend and colleague for almost, 20 years. I always admired her dedication to her voluntary work at Whiston Hospital. It was always a pleasure to have her working alongside us on Reception.
She was an inspiration to us all and will be greatly missed. RIP Dorothy
Unfortunately I didn’t know Dorothy but do know she has given outstanding service in the past. I do know Ray and he, Peter and all the family are very much in my thoughts at this time.
When I started as a volunteer at the hospital in 2011, Dorothy was my inspiration. She displayed a quiet authority and sincere kindness to all with whom she came in contact whether they be staff, volunteer, patient or visitor. She was mummy volunteer and I will always remember her that way
Dorothy and Ray moved into the Close in 1966 when the houses were built, as did we, so we have known them a long long time and count them among our good friends. Dorothy was not a lover of cats but willingly looked after our cat, George, when we went on holiday and said she came to enjoy his funny ways! We will miss our occasional get togethers in their house and ours. She had an interesting life and was a pleasure to be with. We will miss her and always remember her. Ray, Peter and family are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time. Love Hil and Sid
